There are many homeopathic oils out there and Modify will suggest over the counter items such as bio oil ONLY after consulting with clients in store to further asses their needs.
We get a lot of searches for tea tree oil for healing piercings. Modify does not suggest tea tree oil for healing your piercing, for removing bumps or for applying to healed piercings (since if its healed, it really doesnt need it). If you are thinking about applying tea tree oil to your piercing, we suggest seeing your piercer/doctor first and always doing an allergy test.
If you have a healing piercing, Modify suggests the LITHA method of healing (leave it the hell alone) and follows the Wound Care Australia advice of running wounds under clean warm water to heal. Most of the time, your body doesnt need any extra help with the healing process, it just needs you to have good hygiene and keep healthy.
Modify treats emu oil (not vegan) for body piercing the same as tea tree oil. The only time Modify suggests emu oil for healed stretched lobes as it can help with the ear stretching process.
Bio-oil is a scar reducing oil that works wonderfully for stretch marks. Bio-oil is only suggested after consulting in store with the client. We don't suggest bio-oil for fleshy/squishy trauma lumps only for established solid trauma lumps. Even then its only after much trouble shooting and consults in store with a client. We don't suggest bio-oil for healed piercings because if there is no issue, it doesn't need it.
If you have taken out a healed piercing and want to reduce scarring, Modify suggests using bio-oil after about two weeks to ensure the piercing has closed down, Bio-oil wont work for indented scars (but may help reduce redness) but will help with scars from rejection or raised scars.
All piercing photos on the Modify website belong to Modify Body Piercing and have been pierced by the Staff at Modify. We do not use photos of piercings done by others.
