We haven't posted for awhile (again) and this post is (again) about daith piercings!
So recently there has been an article claiming some big things from this little piercing.
What is the article claiming? Migraine relief.
In the piercing industry, there have always been myths and caution tales of certain piercings. Tragus piercings can cause deafness (NOPE!). Eyebrow piercings can paralyze your face. (WRONG!).
The new myth is daith piercings can cure migraines.
I would like to start that all of these myths could happen, but if they do, it is SO rare I have NEVER met a piercer that has met a piercer THAT has met a piercer that knew of someone that this happened to. Sure, bad infection could play a part in the negative aspects of these myths but that could happen from any cut or scrape a person receives.
So.... CAN daiths cure or help migraines?
Snopes says its unproven, and we are very much on side with that.
There is no hard evidence either way to suggests daiths are a magical cure for migraines or are not. For someone that has searched high and low for relief and tried every trick in the book, there is no harm trying a daith piercing for this but we wouldn't promote this piercing as doing so.
We love daith piercings. If you want to try it for migraine relief, we are happy to do it. We don't guarantee any form of relief but we do guarantee you will leave with a super rad piercing that has a lot of fun and fantastic jewellery to go in it.
